PNG to JPG
How to convert PNG to JPG without uploading
- Add one .png or a pile. They stay in this tab.
- Transparent pixels become white. A JPEG is written at the same size in pixels.
- Save the JPGs, or a zip if you dropped more than one.
The originals stay on your device. You download a new file. Close the tab and the working copies are gone from memory.
When PNG should become JPEG
PNG is lossless. Great for UI, logos, and hard edges. Terrible as a camera photo or a full-screen screenshot you are about to email. The file stays fat on purpose.
JPEG throws away the detail you will not see on a phone. A 4 MB PNG often becomes a few hundred kilobytes. Transparent areas cannot exist in JPEG — they become white on this page.
Need the file even smaller after? Compress Images. Need a PDF of the screenshots? Images to PDF.

PNG to JPG FAQ
What happens to transparency?
JPEG has no alpha channel. Transparent pixels are painted white, then encoded. If you need the holes, keep the PNG.
Do you upload the PNG?
No. The file is read and re-encoded in this tab.
Is this the same as compressing?
Conversion writes a JPEG at high quality and original pixels. Compress Images also resizes and can cap the file at 200 KB–2 MB.
Does this work offline?
Yes, after you have opened this tool once. That tool stays cached on this device. Other tools download when you open them.
