JPG to WebP
How to convert JPG to WebP without uploading
- Add one .jpg or a pile. Files stay in this tab.
- Each photo is written as WebP at the same pixels.
- Save the WebPs, or a zip if you dropped more than one.
The originals stay on your device. You download a new file. Close the tab and the working copies are gone from memory.
When WebP is the right send
WebP usually beats JPEG at the same look — often by a quarter or more. That is why you convert before a website or a chat that accepts it.
Do not send WebP to an uncle on Outlook. For that, keep the JPEG or use Compress Images and stay on JPG.
Pixel count stays. Quality is high. Tags do not copy over.
