WebP to PNG
How to convert WebP to PNG without uploading
- Add one .webp or a pile. Files stay in this tab.
- Each image is decoded here and written as a PNG.
- Save the PNGs, or a zip if you dropped more than one.
The originals stay on your device. You download a new file. Close the tab and the working copies are gone from memory.
Why WebP still needs a PNG
Sites serve WebP because it is small. Save-as then hands you a file a lot of upload forms still bounce. Some of those forms want PNG, not JPEG — a logo, a sticker, a screenshot with a hole.
This page decodes the WebP in this tab and writes a PNG at the same pixel count. Transparent pixels stay transparent. JPEG would paint them white.
PNG is usually larger than the WebP. That is the format, not a bug. Need a boring JPEG instead? WebP to JPG.

WebP to PNG FAQ
Do my WebP files get uploaded?
No. Conversion runs in this tab with the File and Canvas APIs. TrashPandaKit never receives the file.
Does transparency survive?
Yes. A WebP with holes becomes a PNG with holes. Use WebP to JPG if you want a photo and do not need the holes.
Why is the PNG bigger?
PNG is lossless and chatty. WebP is better at the same look. Convert when the destination demands PNG, not to “improve quality.”
Can I convert a pile?
Yes. Zip download when more than one is done.
Does this work offline?
Yes, after you have opened this tool once. That tool stays cached on this device. Other tools download when you open them.
